The district administration of Tuensang while taking serious cognizance of recurrence of clash between the Yimchunger and Chang tribe near Chendang Saddle has reposed Section 144 CrPC till further notice. However, Tuensang Deputy Commissioner Alem Jongshi told this correspondent over phone that the situation is presently under control with sufficient deployment of security personnel at Chendang Saddle and Yakhao village.
There has been no report of any incident on Thursday, he said.
He also maintained that in order to calm the situation, the district magistrate has imposed Section 144 CrPC of the IPC from Chendang Saddle till Yakhor village to thwart any unwarranted situation which may lead to clash between the two tribes.
The DC also informed that in order to avoid attack in between Shamatore to Tuensang, the district administration and police are providing escort to commuters.
The escort is provided twice daily and commuters have been asked to avail the service so as to avoid any unwanted situation along the route.
YPCC issues quit notice
The Yimchungru Public Co-ordination Committee, through a public notice on Thursday, has informed non-Yimchungrus and non-Changs residing in Tuensang town, be it local or non-local, to vacate/move out of the town within two days from the issue of this information so as to clear the present misunderstanding between the Yimchungrus and the Changs once and for all. Yimchungrus will not be held responsible for any unwanted situation on the failure to heed to this information. The public notice was issued by Yimchungru Public Co-ordination Committee convenor Lunthrungba Yimchungru and general secretary Lokhum Yimchungru.
