DIMAPUR — Prodigals’ Home, in collaboration with Social Welfare department, Nagaland Users’ Network (NUN) and Dimapur District Users’ Network (DDUN), commemorated International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking on June 26 on the theme “People first: Stop stigma and discrimination, strengthen prevention.”
Speaking on the occasion, Khiuzan Kaurinta, EAC Dimapur, dwelled on the profound aspects of forgiveness and healing of oneself and called upon the gathering to lighten one’s burden by letting go of all grudges, an update from Prodigal’s Home stated.
Shikato Zhimo, Dimapur district welfare officer, has challenged the audience to face life’s struggles with grit and unwavering determination and to never lose sight of one’s objective and destination.
Also speaking on the occasion, Avikshe Sema, ADCP of West Police Station, has sought cooperation from all stakeholders in the fight against the menace of drug abuse and trafficking. He also stressed on the need to sensitise the police personnel on the burning issue.
The significance of the day was shared by T Meren Jamir, residential counselor, while a Nagamese cover song on the perils of addiction, sung by the residents, was released by the director of Prodigals’ Home, K Ela.
