DIMAPUR — Advisor of School Education and SCERT, Dr. Kekhrielhoulie Yhome, on Wednesday lamented that many students prefer to study in join private schools due to the absence of teachers in government schools despite being “well trained and highly paid”.
He said this during an interaction with the district administration and education officials in the DC conference hall during a visit to SDEO office in Niuland, according to a DIPR report.
Claiming that “private schools in Nagaland earn crores of rupees annually”, the advisor suggested making an effort to attract students studying in such institutions to government schools in order to “improve our rural livelihoods and our economy”.
"The purpose of the authentication drive that is underway as part of the Teachers Attendance Monitoring System (TAMS) under the Nagaland Education Project- The lighthouse (NECTA) is to know the exact number of employment in the department so that proper rationalisation/redeployment of teachers and staff can take place in the department," it was informed.
Meanwhile, Niuland DC Sara S Jamir, SDEO Erali Swu and other officers apprised the advisor about the issues faced by schools in the district.
