Prime Spikers beat TASU to emerge winners

DIMAPUR — Prime Spikers emerged winners of the 3rd edition of Day/Night Volleyball Tournament 2023 by defeating Tizit Area Students’ Union (TASU) in three straight sets in the final at Jahwao Ground Lapa Lampong Tizit Mon on November 30.

A delayed update received here on Saturday informed that Prime Spikers walked away with a cash prize of INR 40,000, while the runners-up TASU won INR 20,000.

Nihal was adjudged Best Spiker and Sahil as Best Setter of the tournament.

Special guest for the closing ceremony Apei, Director for Konyak Tea Products, “acknowledged the efforts of the Naoshelim for organising the tournament” themed “One Life, One Chance, Avoid Drugs”.

Maintaining that sports is the key to friendship, unity and peace, he challenged the people of Tizit to stand together in the fight against the menace of drugs.

The opening ceremony of the sporting event was attended by Wangdun, President of Konyak Union Tizit Unit, and Chichanthung Tsopoe, Data Manager OST Centre PHC Tizit, informed the update.
