Primary contacts of Kohima Municipal Council employee go into isolation

Kohima, July 8 (EMN): The Kohima district task force has sealed Kezieke Sector D after one of its resident, who is also an employee of Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) and in primary contact tracing list, was tested positive for Covid-19 on Wednesday.

It was informed that the frontline worker has been admitted to Covid-19 hospital (NHAK) after his test result came positive.

A source from Keziekie colony informed Eastern Mirror that all the suspected persons who came in close contact with the patient, have gone into isolation along with their families following the report of the positive case. However, they are said to be awaiting the authorities to conduct Covid-19 test and sanitise their homes.

The deputy commissioner of Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie, has in an order demarcated some areas as containment zone to contain the spread of the disease and for necessary contact tracing. It stated that all movement of person and vehicles within the defined containment zone is strictly prohibited and under active surveillance.

Portion of Daklane colony sealed

Meanwhile, following the detection of an employee at the canteen of the commissioner’s office with Covid-19 on Tuesday, a portion of Daklane colony which falls under the demarcation boundary of New Market colony has been sealed.

The patient, who is a resident of Daklane, was admitted to Covid-19 hospital (NHAK) on being tested positive for the virus.

Footpaths and entry roads leading to Daklane area demarcated as containment zone were all sealed and all public movement restricted.

It was also learnt that a team of medical personnel has been stationed at Union Christian Revival Church, New Market (which falls under Daklane jurisdiction), to cater to the needs of the people in the colony.
