PRI-CBO Convergence: Committee formed to finalise state operation framework

DIMAPUR – Departments involved in grassroots development have initiated development of strategic framework with clearly spelt out roles and responsibilities as part of the PRI-CBO (Panchayat Raj Institutions-Community Based Organisation) convergence component being taken up by the Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM).

The strategic implementation plan for grassroots convergence was the outcome of a two-day stakeholders’ workshop on ‘Operational framework development under PRI-CBO convergence’ held at Hotel de Oriental Grand in Kohima, an update stated.

The workshop facilitated by the Kudumbashree NRO, an empaneled resource organisation under MoRD and officials from DAY-NRLM, MoRD, deliberated and shared inputs for developing a comprehensive state operational framework.

The participants comprised of officials from the departments of Rural Development, Social Welfare, Health & Family Welfare, Education, Industries & Commerce, Fisheries, Commissioner’s office, Nagaland State Women Commission, State Hub for Empowerment of Women, Nagaland State Social Welfare Board, Fisheries and Aquatics Resources and Tribal Affairs, along with the state, district and block staff of the NSRLM.

Draft of the framework include components like situational analysis, rationale, goal and vision, objectives, geographical coverage, implementation architecture, key strategies, responsibility matrix, log frame and monitoring and evaluation amongst other.

A core committee for finalising the State Operation Framework was also formed during the stakeholders’ workshop which concluded on April 12. 

“It is expected that by May, an MoU with the NRO will be signed by NSRLM, RD for rollout of PRI-CBO Convergence in the State,” it stated.
