In reply to the statement issued by Mr. P. Ayangba Aonok, Working President, NPCC on 25/05/16 pertaining to transfer of JMFC Peren, the NPF Press Bureau has already clarified on 26/05/16. However since he has raised the same question again in the local media which appeared on 27/5/16 stating inter alia, that “the NPF statement reminded the NPCC of the Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court calling on Chief Minister Mr. T. R Zeliang on 22nd March 2016 at Kohima, it is felt necessary to clarify once again for the interest of the public in order to thwart misinformation campaign by an individual or a political party. In the first place the meeting between the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court and the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Nagaland took place on 21st March 2016 at his residential office and not on 22nd March 2016 as alleged by Mr. Aonok. Secondly, the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court did not come alone to meet the Hon’ble Chief Minister. He was accompanied by the following personalities: 1. Two Hon’ble Justices of the Gauhati High Court. 2. Hon’ble Parliamentary Secretary Justice & Law Nagaland. 3. Chief Secretary Nagaland. 4. Principal Secretary to Hon’ble CM & Finance Commissioner. 5. Principal Secretary, Justice & Law Govt. of Nagaland. 6. Registrar General, Gauhati High Court. 7. Secretary Justice & Law, Govt. of Nagaland. 8. Registrar-cum-Principal Secretary, Gauhati High Court, Guwahati and 9. Registrar, Gauhati High Court, Kohima Bench. The meeting took place in the full view of the above mentioned officials. Hence NPCC Vice-President may cross check from these officials whether the Hon’ble Chief Minister has ever raised or mention the issue of transfer between JMFC Peren and Phek. The matter discussed in the said meeting was all about establishment of Separate High Court for Nagaland, Construction of multi-purpose Complex-cum-Guest House for the Hon’ble Judges at Kohima and Sufficient budgetary allocation for the Kohima Bench of the Gauhati High Court. As a person holding responsible post in one of the oldest political party in India Mr. Ayangba Aonok is not expected to cast aspersion on the meeting between the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court and the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Nagaland. If he is really interested to prevent the cross transfer between JMFC Peren and Phek, he should seek the intervention of the court of Law rather than questioning the authority of the Gauhati High Court through local media. It is also astonishing why he is taking so much interest on this particular issue when the matter is still pending in the court. Whether it is NPF or Congress we all function as a recognised Political Party registered under the Election Commission of India (ECI) and hence it is incumbent upon each and every member of the political party to respect the rule of Law. Therefore it is not appropriate on the part of the Congress Vice-President Mr. Aonok to doubt the Judiciary and maligning the office of the Hon’ble Chief Justice of the Gauhati High Court. It will be good if the Congress high command can advice to their party functionaries to respect the due process of Law.
