Preparation for inauguration of Kohima Peace Memorial underway

DIMAPUR — A meeting was held at Forest Complex in Kohima on Friday to review the progress for the inauguration of the Kohima Peace Memorial and Eco-Park.

The meeting, chaired by commissioner and secretary of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Y Kikheto Sema, was attended by nodal officers from various line departments, stated a DIPR report.

The discussions focused on the upcoming visit of a Japanese delegation led by the Japanese ambassador scheduled on May 8. Sema instructed the designated departments to be prepared for the programme.

It mentioned that the soft inauguration of the memorial was eagerly anticipated as it would mark an important milestone in the region’s efforts to preserve its rich history and natural heritage.
