Preparation begins for conduct of bye-election in Nagaland

DIMAPUR — In view of the bye-election for 43-Tapi (ST)  Assembly Constituency scheduled to be held on November 7, the Election Department has issued a notification, delegating the deputy commissioner and district election officer of Mon to act on behalf of the state government in requisitioning of vehicles, premises, and other resources required for the conduct of the bye-poll.

“It's important to note that any vehicle, premises, or resources belonging to private individuals or institutions/organizations, which are requisitioned for the election, are entitled to compensation under Section 161 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951,” read the update from DIPR.

The update went on to say that voting for the bye-election could be held from 7 am to 4 pm on November 7.
