PREPAK washes off hands regarding Dimapur blast

[dropcap]M[/dropcap]anipur proscribed People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak or PREPAK has denied any connection whatsoever between the outfit and Longjam Ojit Meitei of Sabungkhok Makha Leikai who sustained injuries in an IED blast at Blue Hill Bus Station of Eros Land, Dimapur on Monday last.
Reacting to certain media reports which were reportedly were based on information given by Dimapur police, a press release issued by the outfit’s department of publicity and propaganda publicity officer Captain Achouba said that the alleged attempt of Dimapur police to indict PREPAK for the bomb blast which targeted civilians was aimed at projecting the outfit in the wrong light.Ojit Meitei has no connection with PREPAK and its armed wing the Red Army, it reiterated.
Public meet seeks Home minister’s intervention:A public meeting was held today at the Chingkham Kabui Village Community Hall and discussed the issue of vandalising newly constructed house one Thomas Thaimei (35) by a group of people on last December 22 last year.The newly constructed house at Chingkham Kabui Village was destroyed by a group of people belonging to different community.
Zeliangrong Youth Front has condemned the action of some persons led by Md Ziao Rahaman son of Md Habibur Rahaman of Turel Ahanbi, Md Asharbali son of (L) Mufizudin alias Tamfao of karampat, Md Faju Hafi son of (L) of Turel Ahanbi and others who reportedly intruded upon the peaceful existentence of the villagers and destroyed the house.
The public meeting attended by leaders of United Naga Council, Zeliangrong Union (Assam, Manipur & Nagaland) Rongmei Luh Phuam (Assam, Manipur & Nagaland) decided to submit a memorandum to the deputy chief minister of Manipur who holds the home affairs portfolio to intervene the matter and provide necessary protection and ensure safety and security of lives and properties.
It also decided to submit the memorandum to the Civil Judge Court for taking up the case in the earliest.
The meeting also asked the state government to compensate the properties damaged and loss in the incident.
