Prayers in Manipur for justice involving NSCN(IM) functionary

A public congregation in Imphal on Wednesday has prayed for justice into the killing of Manipuri officer along with his two sub-ordinate staffs.
A state civil service officer Dr Th Kishan and his two subordinate staff Rajen and Token kidnapped and killed by National Socialist Council of Nagalim (IM) functionary Hopson Ningshen led team in February 2009 in Manipur.
Now the Patiala House court in New Delhi which had been hearing the case since the last five years, has fixed January 18 to announce its verdict.In view of the development, a public congregation was held under the aegis of the Joint Action Committee (JAC) against the brutal killing of Dr Kishan,Token and Rajen at Uripok in Imphal on Wednesday.
After offering floral tributes to the departed souls, most of the speakers in the day’s gathering prayed for justice into the killing. The speakers in the public congregation include functionaries of All Manipur United Clubs Organisation,Ethno Heritage Council,All Manipur Kanba Ima Lup, International Peace and Social Advancement, Federation of Regional Indigenous Societies , people’s action for National Democratic Movement Manipur etc.
Y Kapoor of the JAC said that they are expecting a fair and good judgment .
The committee will decide whether it will continue the agitation or not after hearing the judgement of the court,he added.
On the other hand Hight Court advocate and human rights activist Khaidem Mani informed that another case relating to the indirect involvement of the then Deputy Commissioner Pankaj Kumar Pal in the case was still pending in the high court.
However the sensational case of the incident that took place five year ago has been transferred to CBI and the agency registered the under (RC 223(S)/2009IPS) following a mass public agitation in the state against the killing.
As a result the said accused of the case identified as one Hopson Ningshen of NSCN(IM) has been lodged in Tihar Jail in New Delhi connection with the case.
