DIMAPUR — Power supply to some districts under Mokokchung transmission division would be affected from October 23 to November 18 between 8 am and 4 pm daily to facilitate smooth execution of vegetation clearance along 132kV and 66kV transmission lines.
The executive engineer of Mokokchung transmission division, Hekaito Assumi, stated that the exercise was necessitated with the aim to provide stable power supply and avoid unwarranted disruption of supply.
He informed that power supply to Zunheboto district would be affected from October 23 to the 28 due to vegetation clearance of 66kV Mokokchung-Zunheboto transmission line, while vegetation clearance along 132kV Mokokchung-Tuli-Doyang transmission line would be carried out from October 30 to November 3.
He added that power supply to Changtongya sub-division, Tuli sub-division, Longleng and Mon districts would be affected from November 6 to the 11th due to vegetation clearance of 66kV Mokokchung-Tuli, 66 kV Tuli-Naginimora, 66kV Naginimora-Tizit and 66kV Tizit-Mon transmission lines. The vegetation clearance along 132kV Mokokchung-Mariani transmission line would be carried from November 13 to the 18th.
Meanwhile, the department has appealed to all public in the affected areas to extend cooperation and bear with the inconvenience during the shutdown period.
