Dimapur, July 9 (EMN): A power lineman was injured in Dimapur on Thursday while performing repair works on a utility pole.
The person, identified as Likimong Sangtam, is undergoing treatment at Nikos Hospital in Dimapur.
According to an official from the Power department, the lineman was in the process of fixing broken barrel connectors of a transformer at Landmark colony junction in Dimapur when he came into contact with a live wire which had been shut off initially.
The official informed that two linemen were working concurrently, one at Kashiram area and other at PWD area.
He added that one of the linemen might have 'unknowingly switched on the power' while the other was still working. He said that the department is investigating the incident.
