Dimapur, Feb. 28: The Department of Power bade farewell to the outgoing Engineer-in-Chief, Er. K. Miachieo on February 28, at the Conference Hall, Electricity House, Kohima.
In his farwell speech, Er. K. Miachieo thanked God for helping him complete another stage of life. Recalling his service years, he mentioned that he joined the department as SDO (Electrical) in 1982. Considering himself as the luckiest officer of the department, he gave much credit to the officers and staff for the successful completion of his service. “Life is a process of learning and we will continue to learn till our last breath”, said the outgoing officer and urged the employees to assist the new Engineer-in-Chief and to work with the same spirit.
Incoming Engineer-in-Chief, Er. G.Chishi, expressed gratitude to the outgoing Engineer-in-Chief for his immense contribution towards the department in various fields like the creation of the post of Engineer-in-Chief in the department of power and for conceiving the idea of having 220 KV line from Kohima to Dimapur which is under implementation and is to be completed soon. He congratulated the outgoing Engineer-in-Chief for leaving behind a legacy in the Department.
Secretary (Power), K.I.Yanger IAS highlighted that occasion like retirement is a time to retrospect and to think of whatever has been done and achieved. Describin Er. K. Miachieo as well
cultured and someone who has a class of his own, he congratulated him for his 35 years of meritorious and illustrious career.
Minister for Power, Kipili C. Sangtam pointed out that the outgoing Engineer-in-Chief was instrumental in choosing right directions for the Department to follow and congratulated him for retiring in good health. The Minister said that good service to the people is service to God and encouraged the employees to be sincere and dedicated because today’s activities will make the next generation shine.
Short speeches were also delivered by President APEN, Er. Shikato Sema, Additional C.E. (Civil), Er. Vitoshe Rochill, Director NRE, Er. T.S. Angami and the ministerial staff and various Associations under the Power Department. The programme was chaired by Additional C.E. (D&R), Er. Khose Sale.
