Dimapur, Oct. 27 (EMN): Poumai Naga Union (PNU), apex organisation of the Poumai community, has reaffirmed its support to the collective leadership in their demand for a separate Naga national flag and constitution. The reaffirmation to this effect was taken during its consultative meeting on October 26 at PNU office complex in Senapati district, Manipur, which was attended by all the PNU subordinate bodies and public leaders. In an update, PNU president SP Lawrence and general secretary Kumo Sha have appealed the negotiating teams to work out the final settlement on the basis of historic Framework Agreement signed between the Government of India and the Naga people represented by NSCN (IM) as two entities inclusive of entire Naga inhabited areas to usher in a new relationship of peaceful coexistence between India and Nagas. PNU reasoned that the Naga people have suffered for more than seven decades of conflict and long for a lasting peaceful settlement which is honourable, respectable and acceptable. PNU prayed that godly wisdom and insights would be bestowed upon the negotiators to apply best of minds for final settlement.
