Postal dept. to launch new facility
To facilitate the exporters based in Nagaland and Manipur state including North East Region, the Department of Posts has announced to launch a new facility called ‘Dak Char Niryat Kendra’ (DNK).
In an update, the Postmaster General of NE-II region, Som Kamei, informed that with the help of the DNK software, the customers can file postal bill of exports online through the web link created for the purpose and get the export shipments booked at designated DNKs/ post offices. He added that the new facility would reduce the transit time and manual paper works for the exporters, thus facilitating direct export from the region to the buyers from abroad.

In another statement, the postal department informed that a circle-level ‘Dak Adalat’ would be held in the office of the Chief Postmaster General, Northeast Circle, Shillong, on February 17 at 11 am.
It informed that written complaints could be sent through ordinary post or speed post with the subject ‘Dak Adalat’ prescribed on the cover addressed to the Chief Postmaster General, NE Circle, Shillong-793001. It added that the complaints should contain full details like complete address and registration receipt number etc.
For complaints about saving schemes and postal life insurances, it informed that account number, policy number and full address of the depositor/ insurer should be provided.
It further informed that written complaints should reach the office on or before February 13.
