Postal department observes Philately Day

Dimapur, Oct. 12 (EMN): As part of the national Postal Week 2022, Postal department organised ‘Philately Day’ at Livingstone Foundation International, Dimapur, on October 11 with Som Kamei, Postmaster General, NE-II Region, as the chief guest.

During the programme, Dr. Andrew Ahoto Sema, chairman of LFI, was felicitated for his contribution to promotion of philately in Nagaland and Northeast. The award winning thematic stamp collection on World War –II vignettes, which recently bagged the Large Silver Medal at the World Stamp Championship, was  put up on display, an update from Postal department stated.

In his speech, Som Kamei has thanked Dr. Ahoto for being the pioneer in promotion of philately with his wonderful collection.

Meanwhile, Dr. Ahoto motivated the audience on the advantages of stamp collection and the rich history of philately. He also thanked the Postal department for collaborating with LFI and being a facilitator of philately in Nagaland.
