Poshan Maah observed with anaemia screening camp in Tizit

DIMAPUR — The department of Social Welfare organised an anaemia screening and sensitisation camp for pregnant women and lactating mothers at Tekang village, Tizit, on Wednesday in observance of Poshan Maah 2023.

It was held in collaboration with the department of Health and Family Welfare, with a focus on promoting maternal and child health, according to a DIPR report.

On the occasion, the child development project officer (CDPO) of Tizit, Emilo Yanthan, delivered the welcome address, while the community health officer (CHO), Rebek Khongsai, emphasised the significance of timely monitoring and intervention in cases of anaemia among pregnant women and lactating mothers.

Khongsai also discussed corrective measures to address the critical health concern.

Following the formal programme, the CHO and the staff of the Tizit Health and Wellness Centre screened pregnant women and lactating mothers.
