Poshan Maah: Mother’s meeting held at Chukitong

Dimapur, Sep. 23 (EMN): Mother’s meeting under Poshan Maah 2020 was held at GHSS Chukitong on Wednesday on the topic, “Covid-19, breast feeding and nutrition and maintenance and development of kitchen gardens,” an update informed.

Medical officer Dr. Abenthung Murry, in-charge of Chukitong Primary Health Centre spoke on the importance of breast feeding and nutrition for growth and development with special emphasis on pregnant and nursing women and children. Awareness on Covid-19 and special care for high risk groups during this pandemic was also shared.

Dr. Daisy, district nodal officer of the National Tobacco Control Programme, presented on the ill effects of tobacco consumption and active and passive smokers with special emphasis on women, while Mharonthung from the Nagaland Rural Livelihood Mission shared on the importance of maintenance and development of organic kitchen gardens.
