Dimapur, March 19 (EMN): In celebration of national nutrition mission ‘Poshan Pakhwada’, the CDPO Chiephobozou block organised a Poshan rally with participation of all the Anganwadi workers on March 18.
The rally was organised to create awareness on nutrition mission and its importance on children, lactating mother and adolescent child, an update from CDPO Chiephobozou block stated. The key focus of Rashtriya Poshan Pakhwada 2021 are food forestry and Poshan panchayat.
The keynote address was delivered by Dzüziengulie Terhüja, CDPO Chiephobozou. He stated that recognising the importance of nutrition and participation of community towards the mission are the gateway to achieve a malnourished-free state.
Poshan Kohima district coordinator, Sohile Tep, also spoke on the importance of food forestry and preservation of wild plants, trees and fruits that are of nutritional value. She also highlighted the new Poshan tracker app that Anganwadi workers should work on to register the beneficiaries of its catchment area with accuracy.
NRLM area coordinator, Keviselhou Chadi, spoke on the importance of self help group (SHG) and start-up village entrepreneurship programme (SVEP), while the block coordinator Keduvito Luho highlighted the need to conduct Poshan fortnight celebration at block and village levels.
The programme culminated with a Poshan rally where placards were displayed for creating awareness on nutrition mission. New SIM cards were distributed to all the Anganwadi workers.
