The general election to the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly was held across state on February 27. Voting commenced at 7 am and concluded at 4 pm.

Wokha: Casting of votes under 38 Wokha Assembly constituency started from 7 am in the morning in all the polling stations. Voters in large number turned up in almost all the polling stations to exercise their franchise. Maximum security forces were deployed to ensure free, fair and peaceful conduct of the election.

District Administration, police, observers and sector magistrates were going round the polling station to ensure smooth conduct of election, an update from DIPR informed.

Tizit: Polling for the general election to the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly was conducted successfully at 41-Tizit AC.

41-Tizit AC has 35 polling stations with 20618 electors comprising of 10543 male and 10075 female voters.

Candidates who contested from 41-Tizit AC included P Paiwang Konyak (BJP), Tahwang Angh (NPF) and T. Thomas Konyak (INC).

Medziphema: At  5 Ghaspani -II A/C,  the voting commenced at 7 am. It has a total number of 29,163 electors, male 14561, female 14602 and 54 polling stations were used. The polling was largely violence-free, it said.

Thonoknyu: At Thonoknyu Headquarters under Noklak district, polling for the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly was held at Govt. High School Thonoknyu polling station 15 in a ‘peaceful atmosphere’. At Thonoknyu village, voting was done peacefully, while no proxy voting were reported in any of the two polling stations, it added.
