Politicklings!

[dropcap]N[/dropcap]o political crisis in the state has generated as much public interest in the recent years as the one we are in the process of going through then and now: it is the main topic of conversation, our newspapers are full of it, politics is very much in the menu for dinner, streets and markets overladen with words of Sovima and de Oriental Grand, culminating with an emergent Assembly session but politicking is far from over. The Ownership and the Patent Rights of the Grand Rooster is in the coop of the Election Commission of India. The turn of events post-verdict of ECI could mean a whole different thing. Prior to the aforesaid, it is an insignificant conclusion to say who is the Cock? and who is the Broiler? Since, the interim order of the ECI is yet to acclaim ownership of the cock symbol to any of the group, therefore, gender identity of the chicken is premature and blur, definitely, one of the Groups will end up with the Cock and the other shall be humbled with the Broiler. There is more at stake than this political tussle, regardless of whom the Chief Minister becomes or which party owns the grand Rooster. Besides the heavy baggage of the State deficit, what matter most will be the road-map of the decades long insurgency problem, having assured of the 18 months’ time frame political solution by the Modi government.
Remarkably, all the political parties of the state having member/members in the Assembly has appended a united voice in the House; if the BJP & the Congress can carve out the unlikeliest of alliance, why not expect and foresee an event of such resemblance from the underground factions, it would clearly indicate a positive sign in the Road-map towards an acceptable solution with GOI.
The old Bihari nemesis, bitter rivalry of the RJD & JDU coming to a surprise alliance has indeed effected the change of Political paradigm of the unholy alliance between BJP and the Congress in Nagaland. Apparently, Bihari Samosa is virgin no more, Lalooji’s pride of Aloo-samosa anecdotes being endangered at the expense of the “compulsive alliance” with JDU, to counter the emergence of BJP which is now a reckoning force in Bihar Politics. In the Naga context, BJP & Congress coming together is like cooking Axone along with Anishi..!! Divorce expected sooner than latter..!!!! If the Biharis can teach us some Shocking Alliance, we too can teach them how to Change a Leadership, that’s the way we do the “tits for tats”.
All is well that ends well. Political tug of war is never complete without having to exchange rhetorical remarks, blame games, anecdotes etc. We did have our Big Political Gurus doing the same, Dr. Shurhozelie, Niphiu Rio, TR Zeliang, Kaito, Noke, Imkong and so forth are now in a houses with broken glasses, becoming household names in almost all the native villages of Nagaland or should I say that two camps each in all the villages has already been established in Honor of this political event…!!!! Who is to blame for this Political impasse???? What if Mr. Somebody has made a judicious use of his political position; probably, the political deadlock could have been nipped in the bud.An anecdote by Khushwant Singh, “There is a cinema hall in Amritsar which has closed down. The last film it showed was ‘Agar Tum Na Hotey’. Even after its closing down the name of the film remained written on its boundary wall. Somebody wrote below the film’s title “Yeh cinema band nahota”!
