Dimapur, April 30 (EMN): Medical workers, police personnel, essential services workers across the world are working to ensure the safety of citizens from the Coronavirus pandemic ravaging the world.
These workers have been giving their best, working odd shifts ever since the Covid-19 outbreak began, with the objective to containing and preventing the virus from spreading further.
Essentials and emergency services workers in Nagaland are making a similar sacrifice. However, at a time where the workers are giving their best all for the citizens, the public can also help them by following the rules and guidelines set by the government.
The officer-in-charge of Diphupar police station, Bokato Chishi spoke to Eastern Mirror about some aspects of the police work such as ensuring people stay at home during the pandemic. He said that the public members have been ‘responsible’ for now in their own way by following the norms when coming out to public places.
So far, Chishi said, most of the people who come out in public places wear masks, for instance. But there are also a ‘few’ instances when members of the public had tried to lash out at the personnel when found guilty of breaking norms or the law. However, he said that it is citizens who have been ‘understanding the situation and was following the protocols seriously.’
The police officer said that the police are there only to make the people aware of the pandemic situation and the consequences it can have on people. The official said they are not there to make enemies out of anyone.
