Police nab three highway robbers

Dimapur, October 18: Anti-Extortion Team (AET) of Dimapur Zone-II police arrested three persons on charges of looting people along the highway on October 8.
They have been identified as Inoka alias Heroka (35), son of Khehoi Yepthomi; Atoka Shohe (26), son of Hevukhu and Lukheyi Shohe (33), son of Atovi.
As per information by West Police Station, one of the arrested persons, Lukheyi Shohe, was reportedly a rifleman with the 28 Assam Rifles posted in Wokha district. According to the police, an FIR was filed by one Manthungo Ngullie stating that four miscreants, who came in a Maruti car bearing Registration No. NL07 3368 on the night of October 8, had looted him of Rs 50,000 while he was waiting for a truck at the Tata Parking at the Dellai Gate. The accused also looted personal belongings from other people who passed along the way on the same night, it was informed.
The AET arrested three of the robbers from the New Market area in Dimapur on October 12 and the 16.
The three highway robbers have been detained at West Police Station, Dimapur.
