Pokimane announces indefinite break from streaming
Popular Twitch streamer, Imane “Pokimane” Anys, announced on Tuesday that she will be taking a break from her streaming duties citing the need for a ‘mental reset.’
The 26-year-old Canadian-Moroccan streamer is one of Twitch’s biggest content creators and has been streaming on the platform for nearly a decade. Pokimane has more than 9.2 million followers on Twitch and is widely considered as the “Queen of Twitch”.
The OfflineTV co-founder took to Twitter to announce the news, which included a note explaining the reasons for her decision to take a much-needed hiatus.
“I’ve been feeling in need of a mental reset [and] some time to focus on myself / my life offline. [In my opinion] proper breaks are essential to one’s health / career longevity, and I’m so grateful for the support y’all have shown me over the years,” Anys wrote on Twitter.
“Thanks for putting me in a position where I’m able to take time off like this. Looking forward to coming back refreshed and ready to make more content. Take care, stay hydrated, and see you soon,” she added.

This isn’t the first time that Pokimane has taken an extended break from streaming. She took a month-long break on August of last year citing ‘burn-out.’
Streaming requires a lot of effort and constant focus for large spans of time. Creating non-stop content for months is no small task and it is understandable if one feels burned out for doing so.
Pokimane is yet to announce any information about her date of return and it could be awhile until we see the Queen of Twitch make a grand return as always.
