Pohwang urges unity among officials

KOHIMA, August 3 (EMN): Newly inducted Parliamentary Secretary of NRLM and Evaluation, Pohwang, organised a prayer programme on August 3 at the Secretariat office, Kohima, with the presence of Mission Director and staff of NRLM; Under Secretary (Evaluation), Director and staff of Evaluation and other officials. Pohwang, talking about his experiences in the public realm both as a social worker and politician, impressed upon the gathering to work with unity and transparency. He emphasised on the need to give importance to grassroots initiatives and to value sincerity and dedication in any given assignment. He expressed hope that, through the blessings of the Almighty, his office along with the two departments would have a fruitful relationship for the progress of the people in general. Speeches were also delivered by Smt Athel O Lotha, Additional Secretary of RD and Mission Director NRLM; and Smt Kevileno Angami, Director of Evaluation. The programme was chaired by M Wangpai K, while the opening and closing prayers were pronounced by Anyem and G Yopon K respectively. It may be noted that Pohwang is a veteran politician, who had also served several NGOs in various capacities. He has maintained a low profile but has earned appreciation by the public for services rendered throughout his career spanning four decades.
