PM shows off NDA strength; NE leaders accompany Modi as he files nomination

(PTI)[/caption] Dimapur, April 26 (EMN): Alliance partners of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) from the north-eastern states on Friday accompanied Prime Minister Narendra Modi as he went to file his nomination papers for the Varanasi Lok Sabha seat. The Northeast political leaders included Meghalaya Chief minister and NPP chief, Conrad K Sangma, Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, Assam Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) President Atul Bora among others. Besides Northeast partners, Modi was accompanied by a galaxy of top BJP and NDA leaders in what was a massive show of strength for the country’s ruling alliance. Senior NDA leaders including BJP president Amit Shah, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and union ministers Rajnath Singh, Nirmala Sitharaman, Sushma Swaraj, Nitin Gadkari, Ram Vilas Paswan and Piyush Goyal, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray were also present.
