Dimapur, Dec. 11 (EMN): Nagaland’s department of Planning and Coordination has provided details of land acquisition in four pockets of Dimapur during the period of 2013-14 to 2016-17 – as demanded by the Nagaland Public Rights Awareness and Action Forum (NPRAAF).
The department released a statement on Monday. “The details of land acquired at the four different locations and money released to the respective deputy commissioner for payment of compensation are shown as below:
“It is further clarified that all land purchased / acquired by the government are done only with the prior approval of the State Land Acquisition Authority (SLAA). Planning and Coordination department as the nodal department for SLAA, the amount so sanctioned for payment of land-compensation (sic) to land owners are made through the respective deputy commissioners of the district and does not make payment directly,” it stated.
About whether the projects exist or not, it informed, the NPRAAF will get clarifications from the departments implementing the project “as projects are not implemented by the Planning and Coordination department, excepting those projects under its purview.”
