Dimapur, Oct. 26 (EMN): Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) of Aboi town in Mon district organised a training programme on pig production from October 24 to the 26th at KVK Mon office Aboi to help farmwomen improve their skill and knowledge.
Paihem Michui, ACTO (animal science), shared on various scientific pig production techniques such as improved foundation stock, proper housing, feeding and breeding management, care of sow and piglets, prevention and control of pig diseases and income generation through integrated based farming, read a statement from KVK.
Films on pig farming and group discussions were also conducted during the training that was aimed at helping farm women to engage with “technology promotion and adoption process, based on local needs.” 19 farm women from four different Self Help Groups (SHGs) benefited through the programme.
