Dimapur, Nov.1 (EMN): The Press Information Bureau (PIB) on Sunday organised a webinar on the life and journey of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel, in which personalities from the field of social work, education and services participated.
Chief Guest of the webinar, Ranchi MP Sanjay Seth said that Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel had seen a vision of unified India and he played the vital role in bringing the nation together. He said that Sardar Patel was also against the discrimination of caste and creed, a press update informed on November 1.
Sanjay Seth further stated that Sardar Patel brought more than 500 princely states under the national flag while the Nizam of Hyderabad who wanted to join Pakistan was also brought under India due to his strong leadership. He was of the belief that everyone should consider India as their own country.
"Sardar Patel was of the view that every citizen has the responsibility to protect the independence of the nation," Seth said. He added that he was key figure who 'coined the voice of nationalism' but due to politics, his contribution was always considered less but in reality it was Sardar Patel who worked for unity in diversity.
ADG PIB Arimardan Singh said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered his tributes to Sardar Patel on the occasion of his 145th birth anniversary in Kewadia of Gujarat. He said that Sardar Patel adopted carrot and stick policy and the manner in which he worked for the unification of the country is 'worth lauding.'
Arimardan Singh further said that Sardar Patel had a life of struggle. He completed his matriculation at the age of 22 and on many occasions life tested him but he did not budge from his stand.
Senior researcher of Indian Council for World Affairs, New Delhi Dr. Ashish Shukla, Dr. Javed Aalam, professor of Jamia Millia University, New Delhi , Neeraj Pathak, former deputy director , AIR, Ranchi and Dr. Saurabh Mishra, associate professor at Amity Institute of Defence and Strategic Studies, Noida also spoke on the occasion.
