DIMAPUR — A photo exhibition commemorating nine years of ‘Seva Sushasan and Garib Kalyan’, as well as Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP), was organised by the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Field Office (FO) Kohima, under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

According to a press release, the event was held at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in Kohima on Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion as the chief guest, the second-in-command of the 37th Battalion of the Border Security Force, Surender Pratap Singh, stated that the main focus of the central government is to improve the lives of the people.

He remarked that while India is often characterised as a poor and illiterate country, over the past nine years, the Central Government has rolled out various schemes aimed at assisting the disadvantaged. Singh lamented that, despite these efforts, many of the intended beneficiaries at the grassroots level remain unreached due to a lack of awareness.

In this regard, he urged the students to take up the responsibility of creating awareness about the various schemes and benefits to society. Highlighting that the young students are the future of India, Singh encouraged the participants to play a positive role and contribute to the country’s development.

Emphasising the vision for 2047, he appealed to the students to cultivate a mindset of hard work and dedication, urging them to take our nation forward.

Singh also exhorted the teachers to be mindful of the challenges students face, including stress, drug use, and behavioural issues. He urged teachers not only to focus on teaching their subjects but also to guide young people in developing into good human beings. This, he stressed, would enable them to effectively manage their circumstances and become responsible citizens.

He also presented citations to the winners of various competitions held on topics such as poster making, slogan writing, and painting, focusing on themes like ‘Vikshit Bharat,’ ‘Clean and ethical elections,’ and ‘9 years of Seva, Sushasan and Garib Kalyan’.
