Philanthropist extends assistance to health centres

DIMAPUR — As a goodwill gesture, the former candidate of 40 Bhandari Assembly Constituency, Chenithung Humtsoe, and his team from ‘Back to the Soil Support Group’ donated medical equipments and medicines to Bhandari Community Health Centre (CHC), Sanis Community Health Centre (CHC) and Baghty Primary Health Centre (PHC) under Wokha district on October 12.

An update from the office of the chief medical officer (CMO), Wokha, stated that the team donated six emergency ward beds, one pair of crutch, medicines and other consumables to Bhandari CHC. The team also donated five emergency ward beds, one pair of crutch, medicines, and other consumables to Sanis CHC and two emergency ward beds, one pair of crutch, and medicines to Baghty PHC.

It stated that Dr. Zubenthung Kikon has thanked Chenithung Humtsoe and ‘Back to the Soil Support Group’ team for their contribution and expressed hope that more such initiative would be taken up by the community in future.

“Health workers need the support of community to efficiently operate health centres and such contribution makes a huge difference to the healthcare services,” Dr. Kikon said.

Meanwhile, Dr. Caroline, senior medical officer of Bhandari CHC, thanked Chenithung Humtsoe and his team for their benevolent gesture. She stated that the medical equipments and medicines would be of great help to the health centres and added that the healthcare workers are encouraged by their contribution.
