Dimapur, July 8 (EMN): The Phek Town Youth Society under the theme “Clean Green Operation” carried out cleanliness drive and sensitization programme at 11 colonies of Phek town on July 8.
Around 160 youth volunteers picked up litters and waste materials, pruned hedges and mow the yard to reduce shade in to diminish mosquito larvae in the area. The youth also sensitised the public not to throw waste materials and to maintain dustbin and prevent other sources of stagnant water to avoid ailments.
The Phek Town Youth Society also cleared weeds and grasses to nurture planted trees and seasonal flowers in the area.
Meanwhile, PTYS President, Neihite Akami infromed all the youth volunteers of Phek town that there will be cleaning of jungles at Phek Town Tourist Guest House on July 22.
