Phek town colonies to adopt medical wards

Dimapur, Sep. 13 (EMN): The Phek Town Youth Society (PTYS) and the District Hospital Welfare Committee Phek (DHWCP) during the coordination meet on Wednesday jointly consented to let the 11 colonies of Phek town to adopt each medical wards and each colony shall take responsibilities in managing, cleaning up and embellishing of their own adopted medical ward so as to let the patients feel homely and contented during their short rest in the hospital.
The press release informed that the proposal was initiated after the youth society learnt difficulties and cognitive factors confronted by the department in various channels.
The adopted medical wards are; Bethany I – casualties ward; Bethany II – female medical ward, Hebron I – male medical ward, Hebron II- female surgical ward, Zion – cabin-4, Bible Hill – OPD room, Mission Compound – male surgical ward, New colony – gynaecology ward, Bethel – cabin-1, Jerico I – cabin- 3, Jerico II – cabin- 2, and PTYS office bearers – pediatric ward.
Dentist Dr. Nungotso chaired the meeting while pediatrician Dr. Wetshelo, pathologist Dr. Rongsen, and GDMO Dr. Kevisevolie shared their views of how to expand hospital amenities to help the poor and needy in town and neighboring villages who comes from far flung areas for treatment.
Meanwhile, PTYS president Neizote Venuh expressed gratitude to the District Hospital Welfare Committee Phek for their untiring effort though there were many hurdles in ground level and assisting in every possible conduct.
