Phek students’ general session begins

DIMAPUR — The 65th general session-cum-cultural dance competition 2024 of the Phek Students’ Union (PSU) began on Thursday at the Phek village local ground on the theme “Promoting education through mother tongue.”

An update from the union stated that Zhokupa Hoshi, assistant programme officer of School Education, emphasised on inculcating creative ideology, clear mindset, and standing firm on one’s principles.

Speaking on the topic “Unite and ignite: Empowering tomorrow’s trailblazers,” he stressed the importance of supporting and celebrating trailblazers. Concerning the use of mobile phones, he stated that people should be the masters of mobile phones, not otherwise. Hoshi advised the students to avoid dwelling on the past but to focus on the present with a positive attitude.

“One should live by examples and not by opinions if one has to change society,” he said.

“The most successful people do not have the best of everything, but they use the best of what resources are available to them and become successful,” he told the students.

While urging the students to wisely utilise their time, he challenged them to come up with a comprehensive plan for a progressive society.

The session was followed with business hour, literary session.

The headmaster of Government High School in Phek town, Shevozo Nienu, also exhorted the students on the occasion.

It was informed that MLA and leader of NPF Legislature party, Kuzholuzo Nienu, would be the cultural speaker on January 5, while Vechisayi Venuh, assistant district education officer of Phek, would be the valedictory guest.
