Phek mini-secretariat near completion
Kohima, Sep. 22 (EMN): Minister for PWD, Housing and Mechanical, Tongpang Ozukum, stated that the construction of the mini- secretariat complex at Pfutsero ADC Hq. in Phek district is 95% completed.
He was replying to a starred question raised by MLA Kuzholuzo on the second-day of the 12th session of 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly.
Ozukum informed that the total amount of payment released so far is INR 4 crore while the amount left to be released is INR 76 lakh. The minister updated that the construction is likely to be completed by October or November this year.
However, the house agreed not to use the words ‘mini secretariat.’
Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio suggested that ‘deputy commissioner office complex’ be used in place of “mini secretariat.” Rio reasoned that the DC office complex be used where all departments can be housed in one location for better coordination. He said that at present many departments work in isolation like separate entity, emphasising how district officers should work together. Ozukum also informed that the department is in the process of coming up with another name instead of mini secretariat.
