The programme was organised by the college’s career guidance and counselling committee, an update on Monday informed. While speaking on career prospects in different sectors, deputy commissioner, Phek, Shanavas C, said there is a huge scope of career opportunity in private sector especially with India emerging as the largest economy in the sub-continent. Gideon L Sumi, district employment officer, presented about the skill development and its employability in the state. He said that apart from college degree, skills could meet economic and social challenges thereby bridging the gap between education and training. Phek’s superintendent of police, Dr. Naieem Mustafa Mansury, mentioned about the challenges and hurdles faced by an aspirants in public service examinations. He spoke about the different stages of civil service examinations and how to prepare for those stages. He added that self-belief and commitment are important aspects while preparing for civil service examination. Another resource person Col. RK Vikram, commandant of the 22 Assam Rifles, spoke about the career prospects and avenues in armed forces. He asserted that passion and commitment are the key ingredients in pursue of career in defence services.
