Phek DPDB discusses district jubilee celebration

DIMAPUR — The Phek District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) discussed the 50th anniversary celebration of the district at its monthly meeting held at Hotel Japfu in Kohima on Monday.

Chaired by the DC and Vice Chairman of DPDB Phek, Kuko Mero, the meeting was held in the presence of DPDB chairman KG Kenye, who is also the minister for Power and Parliamentary Affairs, MLA and NPF Legislators Party Leader, Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu, and legislator Dr. Neisatuo Mero.

According to an update from DIPR, Kenye, who is also the convener of the Finance Committee for the anniversary scheduled to be held on December 21, urged the heads of offices (HoOs) and leaders of various sub-committees to earnestly contribute to the success of the event within the allocated budgets.

Nienu encouraged the HoOs and officers in Phek district to take initiative for the celebration while suggesting the inclusion of families and friends.

Dr. Mero ‘addressed concerns of the people in the remote areas being unable to attend the celebration’ and proposed a district-wide sanitation social work day on December 20 as part of the festivities.

The departments of Economic and Statistics, and Soil and Water Conservations, were entrusted with PowerPoint presentations for the next DPDB meeting, said the update.
