Phek DPDB, colleges celebrate pre-Christmas

Dimapur, Dec. 10 (EMN): MGM College, Midland, celebrated pre-Christmas in the College auditorium on December 10 with students performing a variety of programmes. The principal of the institute Fr. Dr. Shibu Varghese highlighted the importance of advent and its significance in the life of a Christian. He also challenged the students to keep a permanent place for Jesus in their hearts, according to an update from the college.

The Phek DPDB also organised a meeting cum pre-Christmas programme at Phek Government College (Amphitheatre) on December 10. An update from DPRO Phek has informed that the event was chaired by N Bhavani, SDO (C), Phek and Christmas message delivered by associate pastor of PTBC Vesatolu Chuzho.
The DPDB approved and recommended the registration of society of Pfutsero AGROCESSOR Association during the meeting. The Health & Family Welfare department was entrusted to present power presentation in the next board meeting.


Ecclesia Theological College and Seminary
Ecclesia Theological College and Seminary (ETC&S) on Monday informed through a press release that it celebrated its 18th pre-Christmas on December 8. The celebration was held at the college campus at Darogajan in Dimapur, and general secretary of the Council of Nagalim Churches, Ikato Chishi Swu was the guest speaker for the occasion.


According to the statement, Swu “challenged the congregation and urged the community to live with a purpose just as Christ came with a purpose which was to save the lost humanity.” He also encouraged the students, who are undergoing training, to “take the responsibility in reaching out to the world about the saving work of Jesus Christ.”


Activities at the programme included a Christmas art exhibition, which was a creative narration of the Christmas story through painting, as well as performances of Christmas Cantata, the lighting of the bonfire, and a shadow act displaying the cross as the gift of Christmas, read the statement.

Khiamniungan community
The Khiamniungan community in Kiphire celebrated pre-Christmas at the Khiamniungan Baptist Fellowship, Kiphire town, on December 8.
According to updates from the DIPR, station superintendent, NST Kiphire, L Meshu encouraged the congregation to create love, peace and to preserve the spirit of reconciliation.
