DIMAPUR — The Phek District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) has approved for setting up an administrative headquarters post in Weziho under Meluri subdivision and recommended to the government for necessary action.
The approval was made during the monthly DPDB meeting held in its hall on September 10 under the chairmanship of advisor of New and Renewable Energy and NSDMA and DPDB chairman, Z Nyusietho Nyuthe.
Speaking at the meeting the chairman called upon the need to restore peace in the state, while the MLA and Leader of NPF Legislators Party, Kuzholezu Nienu urged upon the members to avoid corruption in the form of irregularities and negligence in their duty. He also reminded the members to give their best services to the people, a DIPR report stated.
Also taking part in the discussion, advisor of CAWD and Taxes, Kudecho Khamo, informed the members to comply with GST (Taxes) norms at the meeting, while MLA Dr. Neisatuo shared his concerned on the issue of land encroachment as the main hindrances for development or improvement of government properties in the state. He also shared his concern about the increasing global environment problems and encouraged the members for planting more trees.

The agenda to upgrade Royal Foundation School to higher secondary level was thoroughly discussed during the meeting. In this connection, the DC of Phek, John Tsulise Sangtam, recommended to urgently upgrade the school with Science streams for the welfare of the district.
The district horticulture officer of Phek highlighted the departmental activities through power point presentation on the various schemes being implemented by the department in the district.
The assistant commissioner of Taxes, Phek, also presented the departmental activities and highlighted on the GST registration. He informed the members about the efforts initiated by the state government for improvement of tax revenues.
