Dimapur, July 26 (EMN): A two-day long Phek District Open Badminton Championship under the aegis of Phek District Badminton Association (PDBA) got underway on Friday, July 26 at Pfutsero.
Attending the inaugural function, Aotula Imchen, SDPO Pfutsero, encouraged the badminton players to be disciplined and develop a passion for sports.
She reminded the players that nothing good can be achieved in life without hard work and dedication.
Imchen urged the parents and elders to support and nurture the talents of young boys and girls.
She congratulated the PDBA for organising the tournament.
Altogether, 54 boys and girls registered for the open championship tournament.
Veteran tournament shall be conducted on July 27.
