Phek district Congress vows to strengthen party

Dimapur, Feb. 21 (EMN): Phek District Congress Committee (PDCC) has unanimously decided to support and strengthen the leadership of Rahul Gandhi, president of All India Congress Committee (AICC), and K Therie, president of Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) in order to revamp the entire party structure in Phek district and vowed to sincerely implement the door to door campaign to strengthen the party.
Phek DCC made this declaration during an extended emergency meeting-cum- sending off service of PDCC president, Mikha Kenye, on February 20 held in its office.
The house expressed gratitude to Mikha Kenye for his commitment and unwavering services rendered during his tenure as president and wished him success in his new assignment as president of Chakhesang Public Organisation (CPO).
Speaking on the occasion, Kenye has praised the policies and programs of INC and expressed his gratitude for the cooperation he had received during his tenure as PDCC president.
Meanwhile, PDCC has welcomed NPP members of 17 Chizami AC who have resigned and joined the INC on February 19 under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi and K Therie.
NPP members, who resigned from 17 Chizami AC included Neikotsolo Lasuh, vice president Kelaveyi Sekhamo, secretary Veshelie Dzudo, secretaries Vekhosayi Lohe and Zaveyi Nienu, and active member Dode Nakro.
PDCC has also expressed gratitude to AICC for appointing Neilo Koza as national secretary of Seva Dal and V Lasuh as chairman of Kisan Cell, Nagaland.
Besides, the house has unanimously elected Khosapa Venuh as new PDCC president and Cheikropa Tunenu as working president. It has also constituted a campaign committee comprising of a convener and two co-conveners with members to work out strategies for the upcoming 13th Lok Sabha election 2019. It has also decided to support any candidate set up by INC based on the directive of AICC secretary in-charge Nagaland, Pradyut Bordoloi.
On the developmental activities under Phek district, the house appealed to all concerned contractors to sincerely execute the works in order to complete the work within the timeframe.
PDCC expressed its disappointment on the apathetic attitude of the PDA government on the CAB issue and demanded to divulge its policy to the public. While condemning the stand of BJP led NDA government on CAB against the wishes of minority communities particularly the Northeast people, PDCC has urged the former to scrap CAB immediately.
PDCC general secretary, Rilo Therie, stated that the unit would remain loyal to NPCC.
