Phek board readies inter-department sports

Dimapur, Sep. 2 (EMN): The monthly meeting of the Phek District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) for August was held on the 31st during which the board took a number of decisions regarding a sports tournament for government establishments. The district’s Deputy Commissioner Sachin Jaiswal, presided over the meeting, updates stated.
The government publicity agency, the department of Information and Public Relations (IPR), gave updates on Monday informing about the meeting.

Among its agenda, the board has decided to conduct an inter-departmental tournament during October 2-5. The departments were asked to participate in the event, the IPR stated. The sporting disciplines for the tournament are badminton, carom, arm wrestling and chess. Attractive cash prizes, certificates and medals will be awarded to the winners, the updates stated.

The departments and subdivisions are requested to participate in the various categories. Curiously, any department failing to participate in the disciplines will be imposed a fine of INR 5000, the IPR reported.

It was informed that a registration fee of INR 500 per entry shall be realised from all the participating departments. They are requested to prepare their own flags, two, with “Government of Nagaland” and the name of the department with or without logo, on it. The size of flag should be 3×4, the updates stated
