Dimapur, Oct. 17 (EMN): A dedication programme of new ambulance service at PHC Namching under the establishment of the chief medical officer (CMO), Longleng, was held on October 14. The ambulance was provided by the department of Health and Family Welfare.
An update from the CMO’s office stated that the programme was attended by medical staff of PHC Namching, HCMC chairman and committee members, council members of Hukhphang, Pongching, Mongtikang, Lingtak, Oulam and Namching villages, pastors, GBs and DBs and Namching Hung Students’ Union members and other dignitaries of the area.
It stated that an invocation prayer was said by the pastor of Namching Baptist Church, while the dedicatory prayer for the ambulance was performed by the pastor of Pongching Baptist Church and exhortations were delivered by council chairmen of Hukhphang, Pongching, Mongtikang and Namching. Short speeches were also delivered by the CMO of Longleng, Dr. Obangjungla, and DPO Dr Imnameren.
The CMO, on behalf of Namching PHC and staff, has acknowledged the Health minister, S Pangnyu Phom, and officials from the directorate of Health and Family Welfare for fulfillment the much-needed ambulance service. She also thanked the public leaders, student bodies, church leaders and members, well-wishers and public for their constant support.
Dr. Imnameren, in his speech, shared guidelines for ambulance service and the need of community participation to delivery better health services.
Later, the ambulance service was launched by Dr. Obangjungla.
