DIMAPUR — Member of Nagaland Legislative Assembly (MLA), Dr. Sukhato A Sema, inaugurated the primary health centre (PHC) building in Lazami village under Pughoboto sub-division of Zunheboto district on March 14 in the presence of Dr. K Akaho Sema, deputy chief medical officer of Zunheboto.
Speaking at the inaugural programme, the guest of honour, stated that the healthcare building constructed by the state government should now be the responsibility of the community to maintain the unit with a sense of ownership. He urged the public for more community participation to invest more and seek medical interaction in their own health unit as to enhance performance and reporting, stated an update from CMO office, Zunheboto.
Dr. Akaho stressed on the smooth functioning of the healthcare centres and urged upon the public to be equally responsible on their part. He informed that performance and effective implementation were essential in order to achieve better performance.
He further urged the public to extend cooperation with the healthcare workers during various health activities.
The dedicatory prayer was said by Rev. Akhato L Achumi, senior pastor of Lazami Baptist Church, while the programme was chaired by Rosemary Vitoli, DPM (NHM) Zunheboto, and the welcome address was delivered by Khakhu James Sema, chairman of Lazami village council.
Short speech were delivered by Kavili Achumi, BJP state office secretary, and Dr. Simon Sumi, senior dental specialist at NHAK.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Ilhoshe Lohe, Head GB of Lazami, and concluded with a benediction said by Ahoshe Swu, catechist of St. Francis of Assisi Church, Lazami.
