Dimapur, March 31 (EMN): Research committee of the Pfutsero Government College (PGC), organised a one-day state level workshop on ‘Introduction to research methodology’ with Dr. Athungo Ovung, assistant professor, department of sociology, and Dr. Giribabu M, assistant professor, department of economic from Nagaland University, as the resource persons on March 30 at the college’s seminar hall.
Delivering the welcome address, the college’s principal Dr. Moanochet Longchar, encouraged the participants and those intending to go for research to take the workshop as an opportunity to learn more stating that research methodology is the ABC in research. Sutoli Sema, coordinator of research committee, gave an introduction and felicitated the resource persons.
The seminar was conducted in two technical sessions followed with an interaction session.
Dr. Giribabu M spoke on the topic “Research; basic tenets of qualitative and quantitative research” and “Data processing and analysis,” while Dr. Athungo Ovung spoke on “Techniques of data collection” and “Report writing.”
Altogether 50 participants from different colleges namely Baptist College, Kohima; Phek Government College; Baptist Theological College, Pfutsero; St. John College, Dimapur; and Pfutsero Government College attended the programme.
