Pfutsato Tetseo retained the champion title of King of the Ring in the final series of the 2nd edition of Nagastyle Wrestle Mania 2 (King of the Ring Series 2013) which concluded here this evening at the Kohima Local Ground. The championship was organized by Elite Entertainment Enterprise (3E) under the aegis of the Nagaland Wrestling Association.Tetseo, who was also the champion of heavyweight category walked away with a cash prize of Rs. 75,000 along with motorbike and trophy. 20 years Tetseo, son of Revusu of K. Bawe village under Phek district, (weight 82 kg and standing at 6 ft) entered the quarter finals after overpowering H. John Poumai in the pre-quarter finals. In quarter finals, he defeated Kuzoto Phesao. He entered the finals after defeating Kruzoto Tetseo in the semi finals.
In the exciting finals, he emerged victorious after beating the middleweight champion Vezhopo Chuzo.
Runners up Vezhopo Chuzho, son of Tsoveyi of Phusachodu village under Phek district pocketed a cash prize of Rs.50, 000.
Two losing semi finalists Vetazo Veswuh and Kruzoto Tetseo fetched a cash prize of Rs. 20,000 each while the four losing quarter finalists Thejavituo Khawakhrie, Dosanyü Zhale, Kuzoto Phesao and Rüüzetuo Visienyü received Rs. 10,000 each.
Earlier, Minister for Youth Resources & Sports Merentoshi R. Jamir in his address as the guest of honour informed that the Government of India has given an assurance to set up Wrestling Academy in Nagaland.
He was all praise 3E for starting the event to encourage the wrestlers.
Admitting that wrestling is catching up, he hoped that it will keep growing and hoped to see more participants not only from the state but from other parts of the country as well.
