Petrol, diesel prices hiked again

Dimapur, Oct. 24 (EMN): The prices of petrol and diesel were hiked for the fifth straight day by 35 paise per litre each on Sunday, pushing the rates to a new high across India.

In Delhi, the price of petrol rose to highest-ever in Delhi at INR 107.59 per litre and INR 96.32 per litre for diesel, while petrol was priced at INR 113.46 per litre and diesel at INR 104.38 per litre in Mumbai, according to Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (IOCL).

The largest state-owned oil corporation in the country updated on Sunday that the price of petrol was INR 106.94 per litre and INR 99.28 per litre for diesel in Nagaland’s capital Kohima.

Among the north-eastern states, the price of petrol was INR 112.18 per litre and diesel INR 100.37 per litre in Agartala; INR 104.62 per litre for petrol and INR 95.71 per litre for diesel in Aizawl; petrol at INR 108.10 per litre, diesel at INR 98.55 per litre in Gangtok; while petrol was priced at INR 103.59 per litre and diesel INR 96.13 per litre in Guwahati.

In Imphal, petrol was priced at INR 108.85 per litre and diesel INR 97.22 per litre on Friday; petrol at INR 99.77 per litre, diesel at INR 93.01 per litre in Itanagar; while the price of petrol was INR 102.47 per litre in Shillong (diesel price not provided).

The price of petrol has crossed INR 100-a-litre mark in all major cities of the country, and price of diesel too has breached INR 100 per litre in several states.
