Pete on rampage as Butchers Union thrash 14th NAP 6-1

Kohima, Sep. 28 (EMN: Foster’s FC, Putu FC Zhavame Village Phek, Butchers Union FC and Kings FC Chüziema won their respective matches and entered the second round of the ongoing NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy 2017 at the Kohima local ground on Thursday.
Butchers Union FC showed their class as they thrashed 14th NAP (IR) Battalion Kiphire 6-1 to enter the second round. Goals from Neikethozo, Khriekethozo, Mezhüsetuo, and a hat-trick from Pete helped the team to beat their opponent in a seven-goal thriller match. Pete became the third hat-trick scorer of the tournament behind Zhazoto Sale and Kezhose.
A consolation goal was scored through Rokozhazo in the 50th minute for 14th NAP (IR) Battalion Kiphire but there was no comeback from as Butchers Union FC hold on for a win.
Butchers Union FC will lock horns with Esu United FC, Manipur in the second round on October 5.
Kevibou Kense brace helped Foster’s FC to beat Speed Talented Junior 3-0 in the first match. Ase Seyie opened the account for Foster’s FC in the 21st minute and Kense added the second goal in the 26 minute to make it 2-0.
Kense went on to score his second goal in the 63rd minute to complete the treble for Foster’s FC. The match ended 3-1 at the end of the final whistle. In the second round of the tournament, Foster’s FC will now face G Sporting Club, Dimapur on October 4.
Putu FC Zhavame Village Phek came from behind to beat Sports Link FC 3-2 in a nervy encounter during the second match of the day.
Hüveto opened the scoring in the 5th minute for Sports Link FC and doubled his lead in the 8th minute. In the midst of the celebration, Vipatu Krocha pulled back a goal in the 9th minute, while Tamthing A.S scored the much need equalizer goal in the 17th minute for Putu FC. The second and winning goal came through the boots of Vipatu Krocha in the 54th minute.
Despite leading two goals, Hüveto D. Vadeo’s brace not enough for Sports Link FC as they suffered a defeat at the hands of Putu FC Zhavame.
With the win, Putu FC Zhavame will clash with Forerunners 4th NAP Thizama on October 4.
In the last match, Kings FC Chüziema came from a goal down to beat Patkai Christian College Dimapur 2-1. Kevitsokho headed the goal for Patkai to give the lead but Menguzelie Rutsa manage to score the equalizer within few minutes through a sloppy defense for Kings FC.
Mezhüsielie Pienyü scored the winning goal in the 52nd minute for Kings FC Chüziema.
