Dimapur, Aug. 17 (EMN): Perizie colony emerged champions of Amity Cup 2019, an inter-colony penalty shootout tournament held at the IG Stadium in Kohima on Saturday, August 17.
Perizie colony defeated Upper Bayavü-A 4-1 in the final to win the cup. The champions Perizie Colony received INR 10, 000, while the runners-up team Bayavü-A received INR 5000.
The best goalkeeper was awarded to Vizovor Liezietsu of Perizie Colony and received INR 1000.
The tournament was jointly organised by colony youth organisations under Kohima Municipal Council Ward-1 (High School), Ward-2 (Bayavü) and Ward-3 (North Block).
Altogether 32 teams from 11 colonies of the three wards took part in the tournament.
The objective in holding the tournament is to create cordial bonds between the youth within and across the colonies and wards in Kohima, said the organisers
Earlier, MLA Khriehu Liezietsu opened the tournament as the special guest.
